EVALUATION AND ASSESSMENT
Scholastic aspects include curricular areas, whereas co-scholastic aspects include life skills, co-curricular activities, attitudes and values.
(A) Scholastic Area: The assessment structure covering scholastic area comprises pre mid- term, mid-term, post mid-term and annual written examinations in each subject. A student has to secure 33% marks out of 80 marks in each subject. The Board conducts class 10 examination for 80 marks in each subject covering 100% syllabus of the class 10 subjects. Marks and grades both are awarded for individual subjects. 8-point grading, details of which are furnished under the section Achievement Record, is followed. In addition to the 80 marks written examinations, 20 marks internal assessment is also conducted for each subject. A student has to secure 33% marks out of 20 earmarked for internal assessment in each subject. The internal assessment comprises 10 marks for periodic test covering 5 marks for pen and paper test and 5 marks for multiple assessment techniques including quiz, concept map, exit card, oral question etc. 5 marks for subject enrichment activities including lab work, project, map work, ASL etc. 5 marks for portfolio submission.
(B) Co-Scholastic Activities and Discipline: Co-curricular activities in the following areas are carried out and graded.
a) Work Education b) Art Education (Visual and Performing Art) c) Health and Physical Education (Sports / Martial Arts / Roller Skating).
For students of classes I to V term wise grading on a 5 point grading scale will be carried out.
A=Outstanding B=Very Good C=Fair D=Average E=Inadequate
Discipline: The students will also be assessed on the same scales for the scales for the discipline which will be based on factors like attendance, values and respect for rules and regulations. Record Keeping: The school will follow simple documentation procedure and collate the same at the time of preparing the report card.
Note: For classes IX, Work Education and Art Education have been subsumed in Health and Physical Education. Hence, there will be no separate grading for the above mentioned co-scholastic areas.
